Vivo IPL 2021: Will MS Dhoni retire after the Vivo IPL 2021 Completion?
Vivo IPL 2021: The former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni always remains in the headlines for numerous good reasons, this time it was his 40th birthday that stole the limelight on July 7th as the whole cricket fraternity along with his millions of fans poured their heartfelt wishes.
Although Dhoni has bid his adieu to international cricket, he is actively participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The cricketer will be back in action during the second phase of the IPL 2021 which is scheduled to be held in the UAE, starting September 19.
The participation of Dhoni in this year’s IPL is confirmed, however, there still remains doubt whether he will retire after this season or not. The growing age factor strengthens the doubt in the minds of his fans and supporters.
Indicating Dhoni’s retirement, CSK Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kasi Viswanathan said that the cricketer will don the yellow jersey for a couple of years more.

“He can continue for another one or two years with CSK. He is fully fit, trains a lot. Don`t see any reason why he should stop,” said CSK Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kasi Viswanathan to news agency IANS.
The 40-years old cricketer is definitely not having a perfect time with the bat as he has managed to amass mere 37 runs in seven matches, which surely doesn’t match his calibre. Moreover, his reputation of being the finisher is dented with the fact that he is only able to hit a solitary six in these games.
CSK management still believes in Dhoni and his services and believes that more than his own batting there are a lot of other factors involved in cricket.
The skipper has led his side beautifully especially after last year’s debacle. CSK is placed second in the points table after seven matches. The team has sealed five out of seven games.
“As far we are concerned, we are happy for what he is doing for CSK. It is not just about his captaincy or the fact that he is guide or a leader as the most experienced player. We feel he is still good and brings value as a player to the side. He has been a finisher and is doing that for us,” added Viswanathan.
