Will Rain Interrupt KKR vs RCB ? IPL 2025 Opener Faces Weather Challenges

Rain will Interrupt the first opening match of Tata IPL 2025, the first IPL match was scheduled on 22 March between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens stadium. 

There is several possibilities that the first match of season 18 will be canceled due to weather challenges. The India Meteorological Department says that there is a high chance of rain,  thunderstorms, and lightning on 22 March in Kolkata. the IMD data show that on 22 March more then 90% chance is there for heavy rain and lightning in the first match of IPL 2025.

Before the match starts, there is also an IPL opening ceremony conducted every year that will also be affected by rain, IPL 2025 opening ceremony will start between  6:20 PM and 6:45 PM at Kolkata Eden Gardens Stadium.

IPL Regulations and Possible Outcomes -

If the weather conditions will not stable then RCB and KKR both teams receive 1 point, In another case IPl will decide to minimize the overs for the first match and the match will continue played which only depends upon the weather conditions on 22 March.

RCB and KKR have a huge fan following, every fan booked their tickets for the IPL first match and opening ceremony weeks ago and excited for the player to play live. In the case of heavy rain in the first TATA IPL 2025, according to the match regulations if there is no balls played then the IPL will refund full amounts to the fans for their tickets.
