Women's Ashes 2023: Meg Lanning to miss Women's Ashes

Women’s Ashes 2023: Australian team skipper Meg Lanning is officially ruled out of the Ashes series due to Injury. Huge blow for the Australian women’s team just before the Ashes series. Women’s Ashes 2023 are scheduled from 22nd June 2023 in England.

Meg Lanning withdraw his name from the Ashes series due to medical issues. The Medical Staff of Australian women’s teams advise her to stay at home, where she will continue to work with medical staff to recover fast and return to playing as soon as possible.

Lanning suffered from mental issues for a long period. Last year Lanning took a mental health break, but she returned to the Australian team ahead of the T20I World Cup 2023. 

Women’s Ashes 2023:

The Women’s Ashes will start on 22nd June with a one-off Test in Nottingham. After that, they will play three T20I matches and three ODI matches. Women Ashes 2023 is a multi-format series which consists of a test, ODI and T20I series. 

In the absence of Meg Lanning, the most experienced Australian women wicketkeeper-batsman, Alyssa Healy, will captain the women’s team for the Ashes series, whereas Tahlia McGrath will play as Vice Captain in the upcoming Ashes series.

As per the reports, Meg Lanning will not be replaced in the 15- members squad due to the unavailability of the Australia-A women’s team, which is required.
