Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Full Schedule, Groups, and Live Streaming details: ICC’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin from the 3rd of October onwards in the United Arab Emirates. The forthcoming tournament will be the ninth edition, which will take place till 20th October.
Bangladesh were initially supposed to host the upcoming edition of the Women’s T20 International World Cup but, due to the political-unrest taking place in the country, the tournament got shifted to the UAE.
The forthcoming edition of the competition will feature a total of 10 teams which will be squaring off against each other to get their hands on the precious T20 World Cup trophy. Alyssa Healy-led Australia will enter the tournament as the reigning champions. They are also the most successful team in the history of the tournament, having lifted the trophy six times.
The Mighty Aussies have won the last three editions on a back-to-back basis and they will be looking to defend the trophy for a record-breaking 4th time. Australia are a part of Group A alongside the likes of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan and New Zealand.
Team India have qualified for the final just once in the history of the tournament, back in 2020 where they faced a defeat at the hands of the Kangaroos at the iconic MCG Stadium of Melbourne by a margin of 85 runs.
The Women in Blue will be looking to lift the T20 World Cup trophy for the first time ever in the forthcoming edition of the competition. But, they will face a lot of competition from the likes of reigning champions Australia and England in the women’s mega event.
