WPL 2024 Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals DREAM11 TEAM, Head-to-Head stats, Pitch report and Live streaming details

The women’s teams of defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are all set to lock horns against each other in the opening match of the WPL 2024 today at Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It will be a repeat of last year’s final, where the Harmanpreet Kaur led Mumbai Indians defeated Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals by seven wickets. MI successfully chased down the target of 132 runs in 19.3 overs.

DC finished at the top of the WPL 2023 overall standings with six victories in eight games. MI also won the same number of games and lost two games as well, but they finished in second place in the points table with a lower net run rate. Both teams faced each other three times last season, and Harmanpreet Kaur’s team managed to win in two encounters.

Meg Lanning will be handling the leadership duties of the Delhi Capitals once again this season. They retained 15 players before the WPL 2024 auction and released three players from their squad, including Tara Norris, the USA Seamer. The Capitals had an auction purse of 2.5 crore rupees, and they emptied their purse on Annabel Sutherland as they spent 2 crore rupees to make her a part of their squad ahead of the WPL 2024. They completed the auction formalities by buying Ashwani Kumari and Aparna Mondal at their base price of 10 lakh rupees.

Mumbai, on the other hand, had a silent auction as they had an auction purse of 2.1 crore rupees. They got engaged in a bidding war with Delhi for Annabel Sutherland, but they weren’t able to add her to their team. The Mumbai-based team, however, managed to secure the services of Shabnim Ismail for 1.2 crore rupees. They purchased S Sajana for a price tag of 15 lakh rupees and rounded off the auction proceeding by buying Keerthana Balakrishnan, Amandeep Kaur, and Fatima Jaffer for 10 lakh rupees.
