WPL 2025: Nat Sciver-Brunt joins Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma and Ellyse Perry in the elite list of Women's IPL
Mumbai Indians batter Nat Sciver-Brunt entered her name in the record books of the Women's Premier League (WPL). She now has the joint highest number of half-centuries in the history of the league, joining the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur, Ellyse Perry and others.
Nat Sciver-Brunt achieved the feat in the game against Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. The 5th match of the tournament between the teams took place at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday (18th February).
After losing the first game of the WPL 2025, Mumbai Indians made a strong comeback as they defeated Gujarat Giants by 5 wickets. One of the major reasons behind the win of the franchise was Nat Sciver-Brunt, as she played a brilliant innings and helped the team chase the target of 120 runs.
Nat Sciver-Brunt played a magnificent innings of 57 runs off 37 balls. She batted with a strike rate of over 146 and slammed 11 boundaries in her innings. This was her fifth half-century in the history of the WPL as she joined the greats of the game in the elite list.

Coming to the match, Mumbai Indians registered a five-wicket win at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Asked to bat, it was the worst possible start with the bat for Gujarat Giants as Mumbai Indians bowlers were all over the batters. The Ashleigh Gardner-led side was left tottering at 43 for five.
With the team under pressure, Harleen Deol (32) and Kashvee Gautam (20) played vital hands that brought the team back into the game. A decent contributions from Tanuja Kanwar and Sayali Satghare powered Gujarat to the total of 120. For Mumbai, Hayley Matthews was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of three for 16.
Chasing the target, Mumbai Indians were off to a decent start, with Hayley Matthews (17) and Yastika Bhatia (8) adding 22 runs for the opening partnership. But both the batters lost their wickets in quick succession along with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
However, Nat Sciver-Brunt (57) slammed a brilliant half-century and, along with Amelia Kerr (19), added 45 runs for the fourth wicket to take the team close to target. Although, Mumbai lost a few wickets but they comfortably chased the target with five wickets.
