WPL Auction 2023: The Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) has got us some announcements regarding the WPL Auction. The Women’s Premier League Player Auction list has been released, with a total of 409 cricketers slated to go under the hammer on February 13, 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. For the first Women’s Premier League Player Auction, 1525 players registered in total, but only 409 made the cut.
According to a statement released by the BCCI on Tuesday, the Women’s Premier League will have its debut season in Mumbai from March 4 to 26. The Brabourne Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium will serve as the venues for a total of 22 matches in this high-profile competition.
According to a media advisory released by the BCCI, out of the 409 players, 246 are Indians, 163 are overseas, and eight are from associate countries. There are 202 total capped players, 199 total uncapped players, and 8 players from associate nations. A maximum of 90 slots are available for five teams, with 30 slots reserved for overseas players.

The maximum reserve price for an auction participant has been fixed at Rs. 50 lakhs. There are 24 players who have declared themselves for the top bracket. Indian women that have placed themselves in the highest bracket include Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma and more. 13 players out of those 24 in marquee set are overseas women.
