WTC 2023-25 Schedule: India’s Full Schedule, Match List | World Test Championship: The horrors of the past have once again hit team India as they faced an embarrassing defeat against Australia in the ICC WTC 2023 Final at the Kennington Oval in London, a week ago. Rohit Sharma-led India sank by 209 runs against the Aussies in the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship.
While it can be said that Australia had got the upper hand on the first day itself, India had a slight opportunity to make a comeback in the second innings of the ICC WTC Final. However, the Indian batters disappointed big time with their unnecessary poking at the deliveries outside the off stump.
India had qualified for the final of the inaugural edition of the WTC Final as well, back in 2021, however, it was New Zealand, who gave a heartbreak to the Indian side led by then-skipper Virat Kohli.
With now two consecutive defeats in the ICC WTC Final, the time has come for Team India to do a thorough review of the losses and the strategies to improve them as we head to a brand new WTC cycle.
The new cycle of the World Test Championship is set to begin with Australia taking on England in the five-match Ashes 2023. However, for team India, the WTC 2023-25 cycle is scheduled to kickstart with a two-game test series against West Indies in July.
WTC 2023-25 Schedule
The first test against West Indies will begin on July 12 in Dominica and the second one on July 20 in Trinidad. India will lock horns for the ODI and T20I series post their test assignment against West Indies.
India’s second WTC 2023-25 series will be against the Proteas in South Africa. Rohit and co will play two tests against South Africa in December 2023 and January 2024. Team India will then host England for a big five-match test series in January-February next year.
Bangladesh will visit India in September-October 2024 for two-match test series. After the successful completion of the Bangladesh tests, New Zealand will tour India for three test matches in the subsequent months.
WTC 2023-25 Schedule for India will also the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia from November 2024 to January 2025. The IND vs AUS Border Gavaskar Trophy will be held in Australia.
