“You’re a kid, behave like a kid” – Riyan Parag reveals chat with Mohd Siraj following fight with Harshal Patel in IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals (RR) young recruit Riyan Parag has finally broken his silence on the heated altercation between him, Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in the recently completed Tata IPL 2022.

Parag, who scored 183 runs in 14 outings for RR in the IPL 2022, scored a half-century against RCB. The young Assam cricketer played a fine knock of unbeaten 56 runs from 31 balls against RCB. However, his beautiful inning was marred by a heated argument between him and RCB players after the final over of the RR inning.

During a game stream on Rooter, Riyan Parag talked about how things unfolded between him and RCB players after the final over. The cricketer said that it started from IPL 2021 when Harshal Patel had dismissed him and gave him a wave to say “go away”.

“Last year, Harshal Patel had dismissed me when we were playing against RCB. I was walking back. Then, he made a hand gesture telling me to go away. I didn’t see that on the spot. I saw that when I went back to the hotel and saw the replay. It stuck in my mind since,” Parag recalled as he narrated the incident.

“Now, when I hit him (Harshal) in the last over (against RCB in IPL 2022), I did the same gesture. I didn’t say anything, I didn’t abuse. But then, Siraj called me. Harshal didn’t say anything.

“When the innings ended, Siraj called and said, “Hey, come here, come here’. He said, ‘you’re a kid, behave like a kid’. I told him, ‘bhaiya, I’m not saying anything to you’. By then, players from both the teams came and it ended there. Later, Harshal didn’t shake my hand. which I thought was a little immature,” Parag further said.

Riyan Parag is a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) which played the final against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the recently competed IPL 2022. Though Gujarat defeated Rajasthan convincingly in a one-sided fixture, RR did exceedingly well throughout the tournament to win both, the Orange and Purple Caps.

Jos Buttler bagged the Orange Cap as he mustered 863 runs from 17 innings at an average of 57.53. Meanwhile, Purple Cap is won by Yuzvendra Chahal as he scalped 27 wickets from 17 matches at an impressive economy of 7.75.
