Five-time IPL winners and the joint most successful team in the history of the competition, Mumbai Indians have unveiled their new Jersey for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season on Friday, 21st of February. Skipper Hardik Pandya shared a heartfelt message to fans of the franchise and promised to uphold the proud legacy of the Mumbai-based team along with the core members of the team Jasprit Bumrah, Tilka Varma, Rohit Sharma & Suryakumar Yadav. 

The skipper said, "Dear MI Paltan, the year 2025 is our chance to bring the legacy where it truly belongs. With the iconic blue & gold colors on jersey, we will be taking the field by storm to Play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey, it's a promise to you. Chala bhetu, Wankhede Stadium la (Let's meet at the Wankhede Stadium)!"

The jersey of the franchise retains the iconic blue & gold combinations of the essence of Mumbai Indians. The Blue color represents confidence, trust, and the boundless potential of the team while the gold color signifies achievements, glor,y and the unwavering quest for excellence.

The two joint most successful teams in the history of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) & Mumbai Indians (MI) will be squaring off versus each other on the 23rd of March at the iconic M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

Then, the arch-rivals will meet once again on the 20th of April at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Hardik Pandya-led team will face off versus CSK, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans (GT), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) twice during the league phase of IPL 2025. In the previous season, the five-time winners finished at the bottom of the table, with just eight points to their name in 14 matches. 

Ahead of the upcoming edition of the cash-rich T20 league, Mumbai has roped in Afghanistan's off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman as a replacement for the injured Allah Ghazanfar. The franchise announced this decision on their official social media handles on the 16th of February, Sunday after it was confirmed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board that the 17-year-old mystery spinner was ruled out of IPL 2025 due to L4 vertebra fracture.
