'Don't spread Unnecessary Rumours', Jadeja breaks his silence on his retirement after winning the Champions Trophy 2025

Did Jadeja retire from ODI: Since Team India's Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, many rumours have been spreading on the internet regarding the retirement of senior players of the team. Many reports claimed that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will be retiring from the 50-over format post the conclusion of the Champions Trophy but he quashed those rumours by confirming he's staying.

Similarly, Elite spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was also reportedly claimed to announce his decision to walk away from ODI Cricket after the Final in Dubai but even those rumours have been put to bed after the veteran gave a huge update on his future plans through his social media handles.

On his Instagram account, he removed all the retirement news by posting a story. He wrote, "Don't Spread Unnecessary Rumors Please Thanks", which indicates that the left-arm Orthodox spinner has no plans to call it a day yet and is completely focused on playing the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Namibia & Zimbabwe.

Notably, the 36-year-old is one of the most senior members of the Indian Cricket Team and he has already retired from T20 International Cricket. He still continues to play Test Cricket & One Day Cricket and has performed in an exceptional manner in both formats with both bat & ball.

In the recently concluded ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, the spinner dismissed five batters in five matches at an average of 36.6 and with the bat, he scored 27 runs in three innings, often contributing in the death overs phase. He also hit the winning runs and helped his team lift the Champions Trophy for the first time since 2013.

India won the Champions Trophy Final comfortably

The Men in Blue lifted the Champions Trophy for the third time after securing a four-wicket win over New Zealand (NZ) in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Chasing a score of 252 runs, the Rohit Sharma-led team reached the target comfortably, losing six wickets to six deliveries to spare.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with his knock of 76 runs in 83 balls, while opening batter Shubman Gill contributed with an inning of 31 runs before being dismissed by Mitchell Santner.

The legendary Virat Kohli, who had a magnificent Champions Trophy 2025 with the bat, scoring 217 runs, perished early as Michael Bracewell caught him plumb in front of the stumps and dismissed him for one run

Following his departure, the duo of Shreyas Iyer (49 runs) & Axar Patel (29 runs) steadied the Indian ship with a partnership of 61 runs for the third wicket, but both of them were dismissed in quick succession. The duo of Hardik Pandya (18 runs) and KL Rahul then played the finishing role as they got involved in a 38-run stand, with Rahul ending the game unbeaten on 34 runs off 33 deliveries and helped his team cross the finish line in the end.

New Zealand, who had opted to bat first after winning the toss, managed to put up a score of 251-7 on the board. Daryl Mitchell top-scored with his 63 runs innings, while all-rounder Michael Bracewell remained unbeaten on 53 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy claimed two wickets a piece for India, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took one scalp each.

This victory marks Team India’s third Champions Trophy title win, following their previous triumphs in 2002 (Shared with Sri Lanka) and 2013.
