Duleep Trophy 2024 is all set to get underway on September 5. It will have a total of six games played between four teams, India A, B, C, and D. The Indian selection committee announced all four squads on Wednesday (August 14), which was almost every Indian star getting picked.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravi Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah have been given rest. Apart from these, every Indian player has been drafted in the squads to prove their worth in the Indian team for the upcoming Test series.

The Duleep Trophy 2024, which is India's premier red-ball tournament, will help the BCCI find out the right players for the next series against Bangladesh, which will start on September 19. 3. Sarfaraz Khan

The 26-year-old Sarfaraz Khan will fight for a spot in the middle order. He made his debut in the series against England and played three Tests and scored three half-centuries in five innings. He looked good and showed great applications for playing the spin.

But Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul will be back in the middle order, which will squeeze the chances. Hence, Sarfaraz Khan needs a good performance in the Duleep Trophy 2024 to make a place in the upcoming Bangladesh series.

2. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan was sacked from the central contract last year and was asked to play domestic cricket. But he will be on the radar of the BCCI. He was on a break from cricket, citing mental fatigue, and he was dropped from India's team.

But that's what he needs to achieve by doing well in the Duleep Trophy 2024. He will be under pressure because this is a major competition for him after returning to the game. Though it will be hard for him to make the Test team, if he can perform well in the Duleep Trophy, then he might get a chance in ODIs.

1. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer recently made his ODI comeback against Sri Lanka since he was sacked from the central contract. Though he failed to impress in ODIs but he needs something special in the Duleep Trophy 2024. Iyer will be leading India D in the competition.

His performance can only help him get a place in tests. Already India have given chances to Dhurv Jurel, Sarfaraz, and then Pant, Virat, and Rahul will be there. So for Iyer to get his place back, he needs to do well in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2024.
