Vivo IPL 2021: 3 Players who can lead KKR in absence of Eoin Morgan in IPL 2021.

Vivo IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed that the remaining games of the Vivo IPL 2021 will be held in the UAE. A Special General Meeting (SGM) held on 29th May concluded that the September-October window will be targeted for the resumption of the suspended Vivo IPL 2021.

BCCI will have to talk to the overseas boards in order to seek the availability of their players for IPL 2021. The final confirmation regarding the same is yet to come.

England Men?s Cricket Team Managing Director, Ashley Giles earlier said that the English players will be given rest from the hectic schedules however they will not be allowed to play in any other tournaments.

"We are going to have to give some of these guys a break at some point. But the intention of giving guys a break wouldn't be for them to go and play cricket elsewhere,? said Giles.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be in jeopardy regarding their skipper Eoin Morgan?s availability in the remainder of the Vivo IPL 2021.

Here we will discuss 3 probable candidates for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who can take up the captaincy reins if Eoin Morgan becomes unavailable.

3 Players who can lead KKR in absence of Eoin Morgan in IPL 2021:

Dinesh Karthik:

The first and foremost option with KKR is to go with Dinesh Karthik. In the Dream11 IPL 2020, Dinesh Karthik had stepped down from his captaincy and Eoin Morgan was handed the role.

Karthik has enough experience to lead the side and has done that in the past for his franchise. He is crucial behind the stumps and his roles can change the fortunes of the franchise in the Vivo IPL 2021.

In the IPL 2021, Dinesh Karthik scored 123 runs in seven games with an impressive average of 30.75.

Pat Cummins:

Senior Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins will be another option for KKR. Cummins has the responsibility of Australia?s longest format vice-captaincy. He is an experienced buy with great international exposure for Australia.

Being the premier pacer of the side, the added responsibility can improve his stats in the IPL. He was really impressive with both bat and ball in season 14 of the IPL.

The 28-years old pacer scored 93 runs in five innings for KKR and scalped nine wickets in seven games.

Shubman Gill:

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might opt to give captaincy reins to young Shubman Gill midway. The absence of Eoin Morgan might open doors for Gill to lead KKR in the remainder of the IPL 2021.

Gill doesn't have a rich experience with the captaincy. He led India Blue in Duleep Trophy back in 2019-20. He has also led the India C team and became the youngest captain beating Virat Kohli.

The Vivo IPL 2021 was definitely not his best season. He only managed to score 132 runs in seven games without a half century.
