Rishabh Pant made his comeback in the IPL 2024. The next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is going to be a bigger one, as next year there will be a mega auction. All ten teams can only retain a total of four players, and all other players will come under the hammer. Hence, we might see some big names coming to the auction. Rishabh Pant is certainly one of the biggest names.
Some media reports suggest that Delhi Capitals are not happy with Pant, and they might consider releasing him or trading him. Pant was the top scorer for DC in the IPL 2024 and scored 446 runs in 13 innings. If he leaves the Delhi franchise, then there will be a number of teams who will love to have him on their side. Here, we will talk about three teams that can pick Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL 2025.
Three IPL franchises that can pick Rishabh Pant in IPL 2025 if he leaves Delhi Capitals
3. Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians will be one of those teams that can pick Rishabh Pant. Currently, Ishan Kishan is the wicketkeeper for MI, and with his price of INR 16 crore, there are very few chances that MI can retain him. That's where they can look to sign Rishabh Pant. He is an Indian wicketkeeper who can bat anywhere and can also be considered the future captain of MI.
2. Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Royal Challengers Bengaluru can be one of those teams that can be big for Pant. Dinesh Karthik has retired from the IPL, and RCB needs a wicketkeeper batter. Then, there are chances that RCB might release Faf du Plessis and look for a new captain. Rishabh Pant ticks all these boxes, so it won't be a surprise if RCB tries to trade him from DC ahead of the IPL 2025.
1. Chennai Super Kings
The five-time champion Chennai Super Kings are one of those who can look to have on their side. MS Dhoni is at the end of his career, and there is no guarantee that he will play in the IPL 2025 or not. Then, CSK needs an Indian wicketkeeper, and Pant can be a brilliant choice. Pant can also lead the team after MS Dhoni, and if he joins CSK, then MSD can also decide to retire.
