Vivo IPL 2021: 5 Cricketers who might retire after Vivo IPL 2021 Completion.
Vivo IPL 2021: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the most glorious league in world cricket and all the players across the globe aspire to play in the cash-rich league, at least once in their life. The cricketers even though retire from international duties, continue to play the league games in IPL or some other T20 leagues.
However, there is some point when the cricketer realises that?s enough now, and saying goodbye to all the forms of cricket will be the right choice for him.
In this article, we will talk about cricketers (domestic/overseas) who could bid adieu to all forms of cricket after the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season fourteenth.
The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be held in the UAE. The remaining 31 games will be completed in a month-long window from September 19 to October 15.
The names picked here are based on the age of the cricketer and their performances, which has seen a drastic decline in recent times.
Vivo IPL 2021: 5 Cricketers who are playing their last IPL season in Vivo IPL 2021:
5. Amit Mishra:
The Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner, Amit Mishra is at the wrong end of his 30s. The cricketer is 38 years old and has been pretty unfortunate in terms of his appearance for the Indian team.
Mishra was the man of the match as well the man of the series in his last outing for team India. Despite performing well, the spinner was sidelined from the playing11 due to the presence of Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
He last played his international game for India back in 2017 against England and since then the cricketer is out of the Indian plans.
He is a regular feature of the IPL and is one of the highest wicket-takers of the league.?
However, this presence in the IPL during recent times is also on a steady decline. Amit Mishra played just three games for DC in IPL 2020 and four in the IPL 2021 phase one.
Following the completion of the IPL 2021, the spinner might shed a curtain on his cricketing career.
4. Chris Gayle:
The dangerous Caribbean southpaw, Chris Gayle is also on the list of players who might announce their retirement.?
Looking at his physical structure and his power doesn't provide enough evidence to support the statement of his retirement, however, the cricketer is 41 years old and has played for over two decades.
It's no surprise how he dominates the bowlers even today and West Indies and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have benefited from it.
Gayle might see the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as his last international assignment and the IPL 2021 could be his final league appearance.

3. Harbhajan Singh:
Just like Chris Gayle, Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh is also 41 years old. The spinner has dominated all three formats for India and has proved his mettle more often than not.
The spinner has over 700 wickets in his international career spanning 18 years. Moreover, his T20 stats for IPL is no less.
Singh has scalped 150 wickets in 163 matches for various franchises.
However, the fact that the cricketer has not been able to go past the likes of young spinners who show more promising signs to the franchises nowadays.
In the presence of the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine, the KKR management is unlikely to give matches to the veteran spinner.
The fourteenth season of the IPL, which will be finalised in the UAE, looks final for the Indian tweaker, Harbhajan Singh.
2. Robin Uthappa:
The wicketkeeper-batsman of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Robin Uthappa has also seen a drastic low in his stocks in the last few seasons of the IPL.
CSK traded in the cricketer from Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions, but Uthappa has not featured in a single game for CSK in IPL 2021.
Uthappa has not been able to breach the 400 runs mark since IPL 2014. In the last IPL edition, which was also held in the UAE, Robin managed to score mere 196 runs in 12 matches for Rajasthan Royals.
With more young players stepping forward for each franchise in the IPL, the management is unlikely to give preference to him.
However, a lot depends on his IPL 2021 performance, if he gets some matches to play for CSK in the UAE.

MS Dhoni:
The name we don't want to take for a couple of more years, however, MS Dhoni might bid adieu to all forms of cricket after the IPL 2021.
Although CSK CEO has already stated that the CSK skipper can continue for a few more years, there has been no clarification from the player himself.
MS Dhoni is 40-years old and is losing the shine of his bat with each passing day. The famed cricketer managed to score mere 37 runs in the first seven matches of IPL 2021.
His IPL 2020 records are not encouraging either. He amassed 200 runs in 14 matches.
Moreover, earlier he said after his retirement from cricket, he wants to serve the Indian Army, for which he requires a certain minimum fitness (he is fit already, but the age factor comes to play).
The cricketer also would not want to join the Army after, say 5 years from here, by then he will be 45 already.
The fourteenth season of the IPL may be his last league appearance, however, the cricket might continue coaching role in CSK.
