Delhi Capitals (DC) will certainly have a go at Shreyas Iyer during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Shreyas Iyer?s sharp leadership was the main reason why DC has seen a resurgence in their IPL performance.

Since Shreyas took over the Delhi captaincy from Gautam Gambhir in 2019, the franchise has managed to reach playoffs in every season. During the IPL 2019, it reached playoffs after a long haul of seven years. During the IPL 2020, DC ended as the runner-up of the tournament while in the recent edition of the league, the franchise again finished in the top-four.

Shreyas Iyer has been the top run-scorer for DC. He has amassed 2375 runs in the league in 87 matches and is only behind Virendra Sehwag (2382) and Rishabh Pant (2498) in the run-getters list.

It is noteworthy that Iyer might be unavailable for the auction as he is likely to be bagged by Ahmedabad based new IPL franchise in its three special picks.

Before coming to Mumbai Indians (MI), New Zealand pacer Trent Boult was associated with the Delhi based IPL franchise. Boult was traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) at the start of the IPL 2019 in an all-cash deal.

Mumbai Indians (MI) trusted the pacer?s international experience and played him in all the games. His presence in MI?s bowling unit changed the fate of the franchise and it won two consecutive IPL titles in 2019 and 2020.

Boult has scalped 76 wickets in his 62 IPL outings. He has averaged 26.09 and has a decent economy of 8.39.

The pacer?s qualities of swinging the delivery upfront will come in handy for the franchise. However, Boult is equally decisive at the death and middle overs.

Brar got the opportunity to debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2021 in which he scalped three wickets by giving away 19 runs. He got memorable wickets of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell to make a special entry to the IPL.

In seven games of IPL 2021, Harpreet Brar scalped five wickets with an impressive economy of 6.04. He can be used as a good backup for all-rounder Axar Patel in the coming years.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will be on Delhi Capitals (DC) radar for the IPL 2022 auction. Marsh is breathing fire in the shortest format of cricket in recent times with both bat and ball.

The cricketer has been recently nominated for the ICC T20I Player of the Year award 2021 for his supreme play for Australia. Marsh scored a total of 627 runs in 27 T20I matches at an average of 36.88 and also scalped 8 wickets in his outings.

His BBL stats are encouraging as well, as he has plundered a massive 1812 runs in 66 BBL innings at a good strike rate of 134.82. His bowling skills have complemented his batting as the cricketer has uprooted 24 wickets in 45 matches.

Talking about his IPL stats, Marsh has scored 225 runs in 15 IPL innings and picked up 20 wickets in 21 matches. He can be a really good asset for the team in the IPL 2022.

The Australian dashing opener batsman David Warner will be another option for the Delhi based IPL franchise. Warner kicked off his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

He remained attached to the franchise until 2013 and opened the innings. In 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) acquired the services of David Warner and since then he played with the Orange Army.

However, the recent fallout between the franchise and the cricketer hasn?t gone well. Warner is now no longer part of the SRH family as he has been released ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

David Warner is SRH?s highest run-scorer with 4014 runs under his belt at an outstanding average of 49.55. Talking about his overall IPL stats, the Aussie batsman has mustered as many as 5449 runs in 150 outings.
