ICC Champions Trophy 2025: ICC is giving lollipop to Pakistan for accepting hybrid model claims Basit Ali

Former Pakistan player Basit Ali came up with the massive claim. He said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is giving a lollipop to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for accepting the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The feud between the BCCI and the PCB is all set to end as the ICC is expected to announce the schedule of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 soon. As per the various reports, it is learned that the Pakistan body has accepted the hybrid model and the India games will be played in UAE.
To accept the hybrid model, PCB had kept several demands few of them have been accepted by the ICC. One of the demands that they kept was that they wanted all the ICC events to be played in a Hybrid model till the next cycle, and it seems it has been accepted.
According to reports, Pakistan won't be coming to India for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 as the match between India and Pakistan will be played in Colombo. Also, ICC has said they will be giving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) a Women's tournament to host.
This is a lollipop the ICC is giving to the PCB - Basit Ali makes a bold claim
However, according to Basit Ali, it is a lollipop given to PCB by ICC. He believes that it won't benefit Pakistan at all. He also stressed that if PCB accepts this lollipop, they’ll be the losers. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Do you know what a lollipop is? This is a lollipop the ICC is giving to the PCB… if you agree to this, don’t ask for anything in writing, and we will give you another ICC event. This won’t be of any benefit (to Pakistan).
"They should rather bid for the Asia Cup, which is next year. The PCB should ask for this. The PCB won’t benefit by hosting the Women’s World Cup or U-19 World Cup. If the PCB accepts this lollipop, they’ll be the losers.”
