"You'll be afraid..." - Shubman Gill fires shots to Australian pacers ahead of Brisbane Test

Young India batter Shubman Gill has issued a warning to Australian bowlers ahead of the third Test between the teams at the Gabba in Brisbane. He claimed that youngsters in the team don't look at who is bowling but are focused on watching the ball.
The third Test between India and Australia is just a sleep away from now. The third game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will be taking place at the Gabba in Brisbane, where India scripted history last time as they breached the fortress of the Pat Cummins-led side.
The Test series between India and Australia is levelled at 1-1, and going into the match, Shubman Gill will be extremely important. He missed the first game due to a finger injury but made a return to the team in the second match, which was a pink-ball Test.
Shubman Gill looked like the most settled Indian batter in Adelaide as he played crisp shots in both innings. The batter played decent hands in both the innings and had starts but failed to convert them into big ones. However, he would be looking to change that.
Shubman Gill now returns to the ground, where he played one of his best Test innings. The batter played a magical innings of 91 runs in the Gabba last time and would want to carry on the same form this time around, too, as India looks to level the series.
This generation doesn't think about who's bowling and just looks at the ball - Shubman Gill
Gill said that they are not afraid of anyone as they focus on the ball. He also revealed the batting plan from Adelaide, saying that they wanted to fire together as a batting group. Speaking to press-conference, he explained:
"You'll be afraid if you have not won. We have won last time and even in India. This generation doesn't think about who's bowling and just looks at the ball. The discussion was about firing together as a batting group in the first innings after the Adelaide Test."
It's about mental fitness - Shubman Gill on challenges in Gabba
Shubman Gill also talked about the challenge of playing in Gabba, highlighting that one needs to be at 100% both mentally as well as physically. While addressing about the same, he explained:
"I think the intensity with which games are played here is what makes it challenging. The mental intensity and fitness that's required here. Conditions are challenging, but I think 35 overs till the second new ball, it gets easier to bat.
"It's about mental fitness. Very nostalgic when we came here again after 2021. Wicket we'll get to know once we play. Looks like a good wicket."
