IPL 2021: Aaron Finch not happy with senior Aussie cricketer pulling out of country?s tours.
IPL 2021: Australia?s white-ball skipper Aaron Finch was left surprised when his country?s senior cricketers pulled back their names from the country?s limited-overs tour. He further said that players who have pulled back will have a hard time justifying their move amid the hectic national calendar.
Pat Cummins, David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, Jhye Richardson, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson and Daniel Sams withdrew their names for upcoming Australia?s limited-overs tour to West Indies for varied reasons.
Finch said while Pat Cummins and David Warner had a long term plan to take a rest and pull back their names from the upcoming West Indies and Bangladesh tour, the move of other?s is just surprising.
"The other guys ? I was a little bit surprised," Finch was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au on SEN Radio.
"I've chatted to them all ? a little bit surprised but it's also understandable ? but I wish that they were there."

When asked about his mates pulling back their names from the upcoming tours and asking the board not to consider them, the skipper replied: ?I think they will have a hard time to justify going back and playing that second half of the IPL."
"Just purely based on the workload coming up with a T20 World Cup and a huge home summer.
?It is really a tough time. Due to the pandemic, the tough situation came in and everyone of us have been in it. I would find it hard to do that knowing how difficult it is and how challenging it is mentally, and on your family as well. That's what I would think."
Senior batsman Steve Smith is also not named in the squad for West Indies as he is yet to be fully recovered. Smith?s elbow injury flared up during the IPL 2021 season due to which he is currently undergoing his rehab.
Australia's chairman of selectors, Trevor Hohns said that he expects the IPL bound Australian cricketers to forgo the second half of the elite IPL 2021 and participate in the tri-series involving West Indies and Afghanistan if it happens.
