Ajit Agarkar advises an easy solution to RCB?s captaincy puzzle in IPL 2022.

IPL 2022: Former Indian all-rounder Ajit Agarkar has a bit of advice for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to solve their captaincy puzzle for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Agarkar reckons reinstating Virat Kohli as the captain of the team would be the easiest solution for the franchise.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will head to the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, scheduled on 12th and 13th February, with a lot of expectations to build a commanding squad for the IPL 2022. The franchise would hope to make most of its purse value and bag valuable players from the auction table.

It must be noted that the RCB has time and again failed to clinch their maiden IPL title. Despite reaching the playoffs on several occasions, RCB has always fallen a step short of the IPL glory.

For the unversed, Virat Kohli, midway through the IPL 2021, decided to step down from RCB captaincy after nine years of long service. He decided to keep playing as a batsman in the IPL post the fourteenth edition.

?If Virat Kohli can take over the captaincy and if he is happy to do it and if he has the energy to do it, I think that will be the easiest solution for them,? said the cricketer-turned-commentator Ajit Agarkar while speaking on the Star Sports show Game Plan: IPL auction special.

He further blamed the franchise for not investing wisely in a good squad and not making a complete group of players.

?At the end of the day, we have seen RCB over the years they haven?t invested enough money in making a proper team of 12, 13, or 14 players with enough depth,? he added.

RCB has found itself amidst crises when their top order misfires. There is no one who can take control of the situation and can slow down the game for a bit.

?It?s always been dependent on the top three, not enough middle order players and if you don?t have the money, you can?t do that again?, he said.

Expressing his concerns, Ajit Agarkar reckoned that spending a gorgeous amount on a few selected players will not fetch RCB the IPL trophy.

?So, if you break the bank for one player, doesn?t matter how good he is ? will win you games but will never win you competitions,? the ex-all-rounder added.
