The Duleep Trophy has a unique place this time around not only in India’s domestic circle as it marks the return of several heavyweight names to the Duleep Trophy, but also the players will have to perform in order to feature in the India team for the upcoming test schedule.
Day 1 saw the bowlers perform exceptionally well as both the Teams at Anantapur and also Chinnawamy failed in front of the pacers and occasionally spinners. However, amidst all Musheer Khan with a debut hundred and Axar Patel with a vital 86 on Day 1 emerged as heroes with the bat.
With the ball, several players like Manav Suthar, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed and Akash Deep struck with their heads held high.
In the Day 2 match, the India A vs India B match saw their rescuer and 19-year-old batter, Musheer Khan stand firm with an innings of 105*, taking his team forward with his memorable knock of 181 runs. Then later Navdeep Saini scored a 50, which also helped them post a total of 321 in their first innings.
Next the India A came in to bat, as Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal handed them good starts, as the first blood was drawn by Navdeep Saini with an unplayable in-swinger that swung back into the right-hander. Gill let the ball go as it swung back and took the top of the off-stump.

Mayank Agarwal was the last wicket to fall in the day, as Navdeep Saini’s down-the-leg ball took his edge and was caught outstandingly by a full-stretched diving Pant.
The India C vs D match that is being played in Anantapur, saw India C take a 4-run lead in the first innings as Baba Indrajith scored a subtle 72 runs, and Harshit Rana took 4 wickets. While in the second innings, they were again in trouble and then rescued by Shreyas Iyer’s fast fifty and Devdutt Padikkal’s 50-run as well.
Axar left the crease not out on 11, as Manav Suthar took a 5-fer in the day as the fan-filled domestic stadium at Anantapur lauded his efforts. The team India D were 206/8 as they will resume play on Day 3.
