All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja thinking of test retirement to stretch his ODI career: The flamboyant Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has brought everyone on their toes as the cricketer is contemplating his test format retirement. The news rolled out after one of Jadeja?s teammates has indicated that the southpaw might bid adieu to the red-ball cricket to lengthen his ODI career.

Jadeja is team India?s one of the few players who are consistently playing all three formats.?

Arguably, Jadeja is one of the finest all-rounders in the present era. He has dethroned several big stars with his all-around skills. His numbers in the test format in recent times are staggering. He has been a vital cog for India in red-ball cricket.

The cricketer has often surpassed the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin in the overseas test matches as he is favoured ahead of the seasoned off-spinner Ashwin.?

Ravindra Jadeja?s batting records as an all-rounder are second to none. He has played a vital role in team India?s success in test cricket overseas. He has been brilliant with his bowling as well. He delivers crucial wickets with his canny abilities.

Jadeja averages 33.76 in 56 Test matches he has played as a batsman in which he has mustered 2195 runs. Moreover, the all-rounder has uprooted 232 wickets at an economy of 2.41 and an average of a little below 25.

However, his decision to take retirement from red-ball cricket may come as a shocker for the team and his fans.

It is important to note that, Jadeja has sustained a forearm injury recently owing to which he had to miss the second test match against New Zealand. He is also not named for the upcoming India?s tour to South Africa for the three matches test series.

Along with Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Axar Patel will also miss the upcoming test series against South Africa due to injury issues.
