Andy Flower to be Lucknow IPL Franchises head coach in IPL 2022: The unnamed Lucknow based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise has roped in former Zimbabwe captain and celebrated coach Andy Flower for the upcoming season of the IPL. He will begin his coaching role as soon as the franchise make an official announcement on the development.

Lucknow shortlisted as many as six coaches with varying experiences in the cricket's shortest format. The franchise then zeroed down on the former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower. He was up against the likes of Daniel Vittori and Gary Kirsten.

It is noteworthy that Andy Flower recently parted ways with Punjab Kings (PBKS) as their assistant coach.

?Andy Flower has been around for a long time. He has a solid reputation as a T20 coach, having been around the world coaching various franchises. He brings with him some rich IPL experience as well and knowledge of these condition. He seemed to be the right choice for Lucknow,? sources in the know of the development said.

Recently, Andy Flower also turned down a big offer from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a full-time coaching role in the national team. He refused the offer and wishes to continue his associations in the franchise cricket.

Besides Punjab Kings (PBKS), Andy Flower has coached the Multan Sultans and St. Lucia Zouks. He was also the coaching consultant of Afghanistan in the recent ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

The Lucknow based IPL franchise is also in talks with KL Rahul to be their captain in the coming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahul is reported to have signed a massive deal of INR 20 Crores with Lucknow.

The official confirmation on the same will be made by the end of this month as BCCI wraps up the procedure of Special Picks for the two new IPL teams.
