Arjun Tendulkar scores century on Ranji Debut, reproduce Sachin?s feat after 34 years: Arjun Tendulkar, on Wednesday, recorded a century against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy match between Goa and Rajasthan. With the century, Arjun brought up his maiden first-class ton in the debut game for Goa, imitating his father, Sachin Tendulkar.

Notably, Sachin Tendulkar had also scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut match against Gujarat when he was 15 years old. Sachin achieved this feat playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy game way back in 1988.

It is important to note that Arjun had moved to Goa from Mumbai ahead of the domestic season in search of ample opportunities to play. He has only featured in just two T20s for Mumbai before moving to Goa.

Arjun, who is a left-arm pacer and batter, scored 120 runs in 207 deliveries with the help of 16 boundaries and two sixes.?

The left-arm seamer came to bat at number seven after the fall of glovesman Eknath Kerkar's wicket on day one of the match when his side was at the score of 201 in the loss of 5 wickets. Arjun negotiated nicely on day one and returned unbeaten on the score of 4 off 12 balls overnight.?

On day two of the contest between Goa and Rajasthan, Arjun stitched a memorable 221-run-long partnership with Suyash Prabhudesai. While Tendulkar brought up his maiden first class century, his partner, Suyash Prabhudesai slammed his maiden first-class double century. He scored 212 off 416 balls.

Eventually, Kamlesh Nagarkoti was able to send Arjun Tendulkar back to the hut with the score of 120 runs while Suyash Prabhudesai was dismissed by Manav Suthar on day two of the match.

At the end of the second day?s play, Goa racked up 493 runs in the loss of eight wickets. The likes of Aniket Chaudhary, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Arafat Khan and Manav Suthar, all scalped two wickets each to reduce Goa?s batting unit.

So far Arjun has proved to be an asset for Goa. In the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scalped ten wickets and returned with an impressive economy of 5.69. He was only behind Lakshay Garg in the list of highest wicket-taker for Goa. Meanwhile, he remained Goa?s best bowler in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
