Asia Cup 2022 will be a great practice tournament for all the Asian nations before the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. But there are a few legendary players who will be playing in this tournament for the last time. The reason is that the tournament is a T20I format and happens every 4 years. So, many players will possibly be taking retirement from this format or international cricket as a whole. So, who are such players? Here is an in-depth look:

Mohammad Nabi is an Afghanistan legend. He is a legend in T20I cricket. He has been the player with the highest strike rate in the last 5 overs for the last two years in freelance league cricket. He bats at a strike rate of 172 in the death overs. He started his playing career with Akash Chopra, the renowned Indian analyst in an exchange program with between India and Afghanistan. Nabi will be featured in this tournament as the captain of the Afghan team. His age is not on his side and his international retirement is nearing.

Mushfiqur Rahim will play his last Asia Cup in 2022:

Mushfiqur Rahim is the top cog in the Bangladeshi middle-order. He has been the backbone of the side for over 10 years. But with his aging, it seems difficult that he will carry on in this format. He is a dedicated individual but the BCB will be looking at younger keeper options like Liton Das who has a lot to offer. So, it is much more than possible that Mushfiqur Rahim will be playing his last Asia Cup in 2022. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are true legends of the game. They have carried the weight of Bangladesh for nearly 15 years.

Virat Kohli also might be playing his last Asia Cup in 2022. Considering the workload on the poster boy of Indian cricket, he can decide to take a break from international T20s. He can play recreational T20s in the IPL as the competition is greater than the international. Also, Virat?s love and dedication to playing Test Cricket are unmatched. He won?t be compromising on that, so the other option is to drop T20Is. So, it is also possible that Virat may be playing his last Asia Cup this year.
