Australia vs India 2nd Test: After a low phase from the first test game against Australia, the visitors bounced back in absence of its regular skipper. India took charge of Australians as they bowled out for 195 while India playing at 36/1 as the play of Day 1 ends.

Australian skipper Tim Paine won the toss and opted to bat first at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday. India opened up in absence of two senior players Viart Kohli (Paternity Leave) and Mohammad Shami (Fractured arm).

Australian innings on Day 1:

The bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah opening the account dismissing Joe Burns for a duck. Marnus Labuschagne and Matthew Wade took innings past 35 before Ashwin took Wade in the 13th over.

Labuschagne looked good but Aswin once again dismissed Steve Smith for a duck. This is the first time after four years Smith went without scoring a single run. 

India was in a good swing as Jasprit Bumrah then removed Travis Head who was batting at 38 runs.

The visitors did not lose control as the debutant removed Marnus Labuschgne who was two runs short of his half-century. Siraj once again stikes and this time he took young Cameron Green with himself.

Australia went completely to backfoot now. Australian skipper Tim Paine who scored a brilliant half-century in the first test looked clueless against India in the second test. Paine?s struggle ended as Ashwin picked his wicket as he crossed double digits mark.

Australian on the first day were restricted to just 195/10. Jasprit Bumrah picked four scalps (4/56) while Ashwin got three under his belt (3/35). Debutant Siraj got two while Ravindra Jadeja picked one wicket.

India's innings on Day 1:

The opening challenge for India came as Mayank Agarwal departed without scoring. Mitchell Starc in his very first over took Agarwal?s wickets. While debutant Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara controlled the innings till the stumps on day 1.

Gill scored 28 runs while Pujara with 7 runs are at the crease. India are 36/1 before the stumps on Day 1.
