Australia vs India: David Warner?s participation still doubtful for the third test says, Justin Langer.
David Warner injury: Australian star opening batsman David Warner?s participation in the third test remains doubtful as he fails to recover from injury. Coach Justin Langer on Sunday said Warner is still having some issues with his groin injury. David Warner was ruled out of the second Boxing Day Test Match after he failed to recover from the injury that he picked in the second ODI against India. The star opener has made noticeable progress as he came to bat but agile movements are still a concern.
?There is no one more professional and he is doing everything possible. The management saw him batting last day, he came to bat again this afternoon at MCG, so in terms of batting he is flying, he is killing it. But the problem remains when comes to agile movements, he?s still having some issues with his groin and we know how dynamic he is,? Langer told Ricky Ponting.
"His running between the wickets, his movements all the time, so he's getting closer and we're hopeful he will come good, he?s certainly hoping he'll come good, but time will tell. We've still got a few more days to the next Test match," he added.
The third test between India and Australia will begin on January 7 at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
No partnerships are the biggest disappointment, Justin Langer:
Langer feels Australia needs to build some more crucial partnerships against India to put them under pressure. Just like Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja did last day.
?A bit like the opening test game, just our partnerships,? Langer said when asked about his biggest disappointment. ?We are not able to set up the games up to our limits- if you look at our partnerships in the first game in the first test innings and then yesterday, we certainly need to get a lot better now.?
?Australia had some good partnerships previous game and this game too. We have one 50 runs stand in the first test and 86 runs stand yesterday. Once you go on to 86 runs you should convert it to 150 or more. Because that?s how the game will proceed and you have to set up the game. So we weren't able to do that and to me, partnerships as much as anything," he added.
