Australia vs India: Moises Henriques Added to the Squad to replace Sean Abbott.
Australia vs India Test Series: Cricket Australia on Monday confirmed the addition of all-rounder Moises Henriques to the side while Sean Abbott has sustained a calf injury. The Australia speedster, Sean Abbott has been ruled out of the first test game due to calf strain.
Henriques has missed the second three-day practice test match against Australia A due to a minute hamstring strain. However, Henriques cleared the fitness test on Monday to mark his return to the test side.
Moises Henriques Added to the Test Side:
?Moises Henriques is added to the Aussies Test squad for the opener of the Vodafone Test series against India. The all-rounder was added after four long years to the injury-hit Australia side,? a report in cricket.com.au said.
Pacer Sean Abbott is the latest name on the list of injured cricketers from Australia in the ongoing tour. Abbott complained of strain during the second warm-up match against India A which subsequently ended in a draw.
Sean Abbott is expected to gain match fitness in the second test match which will be played in Melbourne from December 26.
He would not travel with the team to Adelaide and complete his rehab program in Sydney itself.
?Pacer Sean Abbot will not join Henriques and the remaining Australian mates to Adelaide and will remain here only to gain full fitness and recover his calf strain.?
Moises Henriques is added to the side after a long gap. He last played a test game in Sri Lanka which is four years ago. He got his national call-up for the limited-over leg against India and right now is added to the test side.
The injury concerns will be a sign of danger for the Australians. David Warner will not be part of the first test while another young opener Will Pucovski has also been ruled out for the first game due to a concussion.
Cameron Green and Harry Conway further added to the list of injured players. Both the players suffered concussions in the second warm-up games against India A.
