The Ballon d'Or Trophy is awarded on the basis of three-main criterias:

The first criteria involves individual brilliance alongside impressive and decisive character. The second criteria for awarding the trophy involves the overall performance of the player's team in a particular season.

Additionally, the nominees' fair play and class are evaluated as well. To determine the true winner of the prize, a global panel of specialised journalists, one from each nation, submitted their votes.
