BAN vs ZIM T20I Series: With the T20 World Cup preparation aim, Bangladesh will be hosting Zimbabwe in a five-match T20I series in May 2024. Bangladesh have also announced the full schedule of the series which will kick-start on May 3 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
The two countries' most recent bilateral Twenty20 International Series match took place in July 2022 at Harare, when Zimbabwe triumphed 2-1 against Bangladesh. In the shortest format, Bangladesh's win-loss record versus Zimbabwe is 13-7 overall.
Zimbabwe was unable to earn a spot in the T20 World Cup in 2024. Bangladesh will, however, begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 8 in Dallas. They are in Group D with Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
This series is more crucial for Bangladesh on the road to the T20 World Cup 2024 preparation. They also have a tour of the USA before the T20 World Cup 2024 and that tour will include 3 T20Is.
Starting on May 3, the first contest of the series between the two teams will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. The following two T20Is will also be played at the same venue on 5th and 7th May.
The last two matches of the BAN vs ZIM T20I series will be played at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th T20Is will be played at 06:00 PM (BST) or 05:30 PM (IST), the 3rd will be played at 03:00 PM BST and the last T20I will be played from 10:00 AM BST.
Additionally, the BCB said in a statement that the Zimbabwe and Bangladesh two-match Test series that was initially slated to take place this year would instead take place in 2025. Since 2018, this will be the teams' first Test series.
