BCCI fined Rajat Patidar, know for which offence the RCB captain was punished?
Rajat Patidar: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday in the 20th match of IPL 2025. This is Bengaluru's third win of the season while Mumbai suffered their fourth defeat in five matches.
Batting first at the Wankhede , RCB scored a mammoth 221 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs and then restricted Mumbai's team to 209 runs for 9 wickets. However, the celebration of the Bengaluru-based team was interrupted.
The IPL Governing Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big action against RCB captain Rajat Patidar. Patidar was found guilty of slow over rate during the match against Mumbai Indians (MI). After this, the board has now imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Patidar.
A statement issued by the IPL said that this was his team's first offence of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over-rate and hence Patidar has been fined Rs 12 lakh.

Patidar played an important role in his team's victory by scoring 64 runs in 32 balls. The 31-year-old was chosen 'Man of the Match' for his brilliant innings. After three wins in IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore team has now reached the third position in the points table with six points. They play their next match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on 10 April in Bangalore.
After winning the IPL match against Mumbai Indians on Monday, Rajat Patidar said, "It was really a great match. The way the bowlers showed courage, it was an amazing performance. Honestly, this award goes to the bowling unit, because it is not easy to stop the batting unit on this ground, so the credit goes to them."
