BCCI to increase crowd capacity in the Tata IPL 2022 to 50 per cent from April 5: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Thursday, decided to increase the number of spectators watching live-action of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 from the stadium. As per the latest directives, the crowd capacity will be increased to 50 per cent from April 5 in all the hosting stadiums.

Notably, the Tata IPL 2022 is being staged in just four venues across Mumbai and Pune. The Brabourne Stadium, Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai and MCA International Stadium in Pune are hosting all 70 league matches of the tournament.

Of late, the covid situation in Maharashtra is in control. The cases are dipping on daily basis owing to which the state government has decided to lift all the covid related curbs in the state from April 1.

With the better covid situation, the BCCI has also asked Mumbai Cricket Association and the Maharashtra Cricket Association to make necessary arrangements to include 50 per cent of fans into the stadiums from April 5. The online ticket selling partners have also been informed of the same decision by the top office-bearers of the BCCI.

This means that the April 5 clash of Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Wankhede Stadium will see 50 per cent crowd attendance.

The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 hasn?t yet completed a week and we have seen several blockbuster performances in the tournament. As the tournament progresses, the fans will witness more intense matches between teams.

Right from the start of the Tata IPL 2022, several new players have begun to come up the ranks and impress the cricket fraternity with their sensational cricket.

The likes of young Ayush Badoni (Lucknow Super Giants), Aakash Deep (Royal Challengers Bangalore) etc. have already snatched the limelight and garnered praises from experts all around the globe.
