CA appoints former cricketer George Bailey as the chief selector, replacing Trevor Hohns.
Cricket Australia (CA), on Sunday, replaced Trevor Hohns from the position of the national chief selector and appointed former Australian skipper George Bailey to take up the reins.
Hohns, who held the position two times during his tenure, is retiring after two successful stints. He first joined the selection panel in 1991 and helped Aussies selecting some great players and teams.
Under his first tenure, Australia touched great milestones whether it?s two back to back 50 Overs World Cup win in 1999 and 2003 or five Ashes Series wins on the trot.
"The game has been great to me and I have loved every minute of it, from the good times to the bad," Hohns said.
"I have been extremely fortunate to be involved with some of the greatest Australian teams of all time and many of the best players to have played the game."

The former Australian skipper, George Bailey joined the panel back in February in 2020 and now will handle the reins as the chief. He will have some really big responsibilities as the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the Ashes Series is approaching.
He thanked former selector Trevor Hohns for his selfless services to shape Australian cricket.
"I would like to thank Trevor for his incredible work which has helped shape the success of Australian cricket over a long period, including during my days as a player and captain," Bailey, who played 90 one-day internationals, said.
"In what can be a challenging job, Trevor has always been calm, consistent and approachable."
"Similarly to his journey, he has made my transition from player to a selector as smooth as possible. There is a lot I will take from Trevor's style and very much look forward to the journey ahead."
