CSK pacer Deepak Chahar likely to be ruled out for majority of IPL 2022: The reigning champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have suffered a pre-season jolt, as premier pacer Deepak Chahar is all set to miss the majority of the IPL 2022 due to his untimely injury.?
A report in ESPNcricinfo stated that Chahar, who has sustained a quadricep tear during the final T20I match against West Indies, is highly unlikely to play the complete Indian T20 tournament in 2022. The pacer, following his injury, was ruled out of the India vs Sri Lanka T20I series.
The right-arm seamer is currently undergoing a rehab program in the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore and will take several weeks to heal.
"Chahar, who suffered a quadricep tear in the third T20I against West Indies last month, is likely to take several weeks to heal, meaning he could miss the IPL which will be played between March 26 and May 29. It is understood that the Super Kings are awaiting a final assessment from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where Chahar is currently undergoing his rehabilitation," said the report.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shelled out a whopping amount during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, and fought an intense bidding war with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, to acquire the services of Deepak Chahar. MS Dhoni and Co bought Chahar for INR 14 Crores.

It must be noted that Chahar was in an upright flow during India vs West Indies series limited-overs series. In the three games T20I series, Chahar scalped three wickets at a modest economy while he uprooted two wickets in the solitary ODI he featured against the Caribbeans.
CSK would suffer a severe setback if Deepak Chahar gets ruled out of the entire IPL 2022. As of now, the reports have suggested that the pacer will be available for the play midway through April, however, there is no surety to that fact.
Meanwhile, The BCCI and Maharashtra government has decided to allow 25 per cent of fans to watch the live-action between IPL teams from the stadium until April 15. For the second part of the IPL 2022, the decision regarding an increase in the crowd capacity will be taken after accessing the further situation.
