CSK?s Deepak Chahar likely to return in the IPL 2022 phase two: In an encouraging development for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans, pacer Deepak Chahar is likely to return to the cricket field during the second phase of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Chahar has already begun practising in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will soon join his IPL franchise.
Notably, Deepak Chahar, who was bagged by Chennai Super Kings in the auction for INR 14 Crores, sustained a right quadriceps injury during the West Indies tour of India.?The speedster was then subsequently ruled out of India's further matches.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has slipped down to two losses in the Tata IPL 2022. The yellow army is yet to register a win under their new skipper, Ravindra Jadeja.
The defending champions were recently thrashed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Brabourne Stadium. The high scoring thriller was well within CSK?s reach, however, poor death bowling and limited bowling resources pushed CSK into the backfoot and the franchise eventually lost the match.
One of the main reasons for CSK?s defeat in its first two matches was its poor bowling, especially in the death overs and lack of enough resources. The bowlers haven?t been able to perform to their potential in the Tata IPL 2022.
The franchise is even struggling to fetch early breakthroughs at the start of the innings. Certainly, CSK would be missing the services of Deepak Chahar.
Chahar has the knack for picking up early wickets. He is extremely dangerous in his powerplay overs and can destroy any batting unit upfront.
An injury to Deepak Chahar turned out to be a huge setback for Chennai Super Kings, however, the franchise is hopeful for his early return.
Meanwhile, giving a much-required update on Deepak Chahar's availability, CSK coach Stephen Fleming recently said:
?Adam Milne has had some treatment, he?s hopefully not too far away. Chris Jordan, also, hopefully not too far away, and of course Deepak Chahar. So we are a bit of resource down with our fast bowling, but at some stage, all teams will find they are a little bit skinny in some areas.?
Chahar recently took to his Instagram handle to provide an update on his recovery. The pacer put up a picture of him bowling with a caption, "Update on demand."
