South African speed gun Dale Steyn has announced retirement from all forms of Cricket. With the announcement, which Steyn made on Tuesday, he drew curtains on an illustrious 17 years long international career.
Dale Steyn took to Twitter to announce his decision. In a 17-years long career, Steyn made 93 Test appearances along with 125 ODIs and 47 T20I outings for Proteas.
During his prime, the gun bowler ruled all the bowling charts for almost a decade and a half. Steyn became ICC?s number one test bowler back in 2008 and dominated the spot for almost four years. He was dethroned by his countrymen Vernon Philander in 2013, however, the pacer reclaimed it back in the very next year.
The pacer has 439 test wickets under his decorated hat along with 196 ODIs wickets and 64 T20I wickets.
?Today I officially retire from the game I love the most. Bitter sweet but grateful. Thank you to everyone, from family to teammates, journalists to fans, its been an incredible journey together," he wrote.

?And it?s been a long December and there?s reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last I can?t remember all the times I tried to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass.?
?It?s been 20 years of training, matches, travel, wins, losses, strapped feat, jet lag, joy, and brotherhood. There are too many memories to tell. To many faces to thank. So I left it to the experts to sum up, my favourite band, the Counting Crows," he added.
