ENG vs AUS: Australia Beat England in a Test Thriller by 2 wickets: What a match! Can you imagine that level of twists 'n' turns and thrill in a test match? This time, Australia's ninth-wicket pair succeeds in taking the match away, sending the rest of the team into an uproar. The visitors Australia surprised the spectators by beating the home team England. It won't be wrong if we say Australia snatched the win out of England's lap.
It was raining in Birmingham in the morning. Khawaja and Boland were on the crease and provided a slow but stable start of Day 5. Travis Head came in the middle and tried to take on English bowlers. Moeen takes him down instead with a score of 16.
Skipper Stokes sent solid Khawaja back to the pavilion at 65. Khawaja became the first Australian to score a century and a half-century in a test match. Alex Carey also stood there for a few moments and added 20 runs before getting caught and bowled to Root.
Cummins came next and took on the English bowlers right from the start. It was the time when Australia were totally out of the game. They needed 54 and England needed just 2 wickets but Nathon Lyon and Pat Cummins were ready to take the challenge. Lyon was quick to take on English bowlers while Cummins was holding the ground there. The equation was Australia need 5 runs and England need 2 wickets.
Cummins did it with style! Four to the third man and Australia won the first Test of the Ashes. Skipper lead his side to a lead of 0-1. Amazing win for Australia as they put the 2005 Edgbaston nightmares behind them.
