England announces squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and India ODIs

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the strong 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well as the three-match ODI series against the Indian team, which will be played in February.
England will be captained by Jos Buttler and the squad has seen Joe Root making a comeback into the team. The premier batter last played for the team in the ODIs during the ICC World Cup 2023. On the other hand, Ben Stokes wasn't considered for the selection.
This was because the all-rounder suffered a hamstring injury during the Test series against New Zealand. The ECB on the same stated: "Ben Stokes was not considered for selection as he continues to be assessed following a left hamstring injury sustained during the third Test match against New Zealand earlier this month."
England becomes the first team to announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The three-match ODI series against the Indian team will be an ideal preparation for the team heading into the tournament. They would be keen to win the tournament as well as the series.
