England announces squad for the T20I series against India

The England team will be playing under the leadership of Jos Buttler

England and the Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the 15-member strong squad for the  T20I series against India. The two teams will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series ahead of the three-match ODI series. 

The England team will be playing under the leadership of Jos Buttler. The team has a good combination of young players as well as experienced players. With India playing the aggressive brand of cricket, it promises to be an exciting series between the teams as they look to build for the T20 World Cup 2026. 

Skipper Buttler, along with Phil Salt, are the two openers in the tea,m, while there are plenty of all-rounders in the team as well. The likes of Jacob Bethel, Liam Livingstone, Jamie Overton and others will be forming a strong squad for the five T20Is against India. 

The England team will be leaving for India on 17th January and the first T20I between the teams is all set to take place from 22nd January at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai will be hosting the next four games respectively. 

This will also mark the first series for Brendon McCullum as the head coach of England in the white-ball format. He will be hoping to emulate the red-ball form in e-ball cricket as well and help the team win the series against the Suryakumar Yadav-led side.
