Every new record set by Zimbabwe en route to the world record in T20I alongside being the highest score as a full-member nation

Zimbabwe has awestruck every cricket fan with their recent most staggering batting performance in the T20 World Cup Sub-regional African Qualifiers.
A staggering 344 in their 20 overs is what the Sikandar Raza-led side has put on the scoreboard in the match against Gambia. The Nairobi International Stadium was lit with a mesmerising show from the Zimbabwean batters.
The skipper Sikandar Raza himself scored a perfect hand, as he was the star smashing a heroic 133* runs of just 43 balls with a staggering 15 sixes to his name. With this latest highest international T20 score, Zimbabwe has not only broken India?s record of 297 runs in a T20I game as the highest team score by a full member nation but also went on to surpass Nepal in the list of all-time highest scorers.
Previously, Nepal had 314, the highest ever T20 score against Mongolia in the Asian games, though it was not from a full member nation of the ICC. Hence, the record just set earlier this month by the Indians, which gathered much praise, was also surpassed by the African rising powerhouses of international T20s.
Next, Zimbabwe went on to win the match against the minor Gambia team for a huge 290 runs, as this would remain the biggest win by a member nation of the ICC.
On the other hand, Sikandar Raza, the Zimbabwe skipper, went on to shatter records as he surpassed Virat Kohli for being crowned the Player of the Match for the 17th time in the history of the shortest format of the game.
Zimbabwe currently features twice among the 5 highest team scores in T20Is
Not much was expected by many, but the African underdogs have been quite a rising team in the aspect of the game. The Indian team had recently amazed all with a huge score of 297 in a T20 game against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Zimbabwe now sits at the top with the highest T20I score of 344/4 in their 20 overs vs. Gambia in October 2024. Next on this list features Nepal, who had the previous highest score of 314/3 against Mongolia in September 2023.
India features on this list as the only heavyweight team to have enlisted them for the highest T20I scores, as they have 297/6, the third highest on the list.
Zimbabwe followed again with a huge 286/5 against the Seychelles only four days ago in the same ongoing qualifier games. The last on this list is the World Cup semi-finalists from the USA, the Afghanistan team, who scored a staggering 278/3 against Ireland back in February 2019.
