Fan Breaches the bio-bubble to meet Virat Kohli: During the third session of the opening day of the Day/Night test at Ahmedabad, a fan crossed the fence to meet Virat Kohli putting the players bio-bubble at risk.
Virat Kohli maintained a good distance from the fan and signalled him to go back to the stands. Watching skipper Kohli?s signal the fan decided to move back to the stands once again.
The revamped Narendra Modi Stadium hosted 40,000 fans for the third pink ball test match between India and England on Wednesday.
India vs England Day 1 Report:
As far as the play is concerned, it was India?s day. Indian spinner Axar Patel bagged his career-best 6-48 in the first innings while Ashwin scalped 3 wickets. India restricted the visitors to mere 112 runs to put themselves in driving seat.
Senior Opener Rohit Sharma picked himself where he left in Chennai. Sharma is over 50 runs now and still standing tall at the crease. Skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed towards the end of the third session after a strong partnership with Rohit Sharma. Kohli was picked by Jack Leach at 27 runs.
While Cheteshwar Pujara went for a four-ball duck after he mistracked Jack Leach?s straight delivery.
Joe Root?s decision backfired at them as they saw a complete debacle in 48 over and inside two sessions. India in the loss of three wickets is just 13 runs behind with Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in the middle.
For England, Opener Jack Crawley played superbly without any fear. Crawley played 53 runs good knock before getting trapped off Axar Patel.
England cricketers continuously played for the turning ball and eventually, one straight ball cost them their wickets.
Ishant Sharma who is playing his 100th Test Match provided an early breakthrough of Dom Sibley.
