The second half was also dominated by Argentina till the 70^th minute. After that, the French players pulled up their socks. France made a few substitutions. Kingsley Coman and Camavinga were exceptional after coming on. Kylian Mbappe won a penalty in the 80th minute and scored. In the very next minute, he pulled a volley and scored from open play. France had pulled itself back into the game. 2-2, France had equalized. The injury time also ended with the teams being 2-2. ?

The extra time was also eventful. Lautaro Martinez and Acuna had come on for Argentina. These fresh legs dominated the French defense. Lionel Messi scored another goal in the 108^th minute. 3-2, Argentina lead. But it was Mbappe again, who won a penalty and scored in the dying minutes to equalize. The game was put in penalties.
