?Frustrated? Mohammad Amir retires from International cricket.
Mohammad Amir Retires: Pakistan?s left-arm paceman on Thursday announced his retirement from international cricket. Amir?s decision to leave International cricket was backed by the frustrating treatment from Pakistan?s board.
The 28-years old paceman was not considered for New Zealand despite being available. Amir was also disappointed for not picking him for the home tour against Zimbabwe.
Amir picked 119 scalps in his 36 test games while he got 81 ODI wickets in 61 games along with 59 T20I wickets in 50 games.
Management did not consider Amir despite being available:
?I (Amir) was always ready for the limited-overs cricket but I have had a shabby treatment from the team management who have mentally tortured me, and that?s not acceptable.?
?PCB chief executive also confirmed the news, Wasim Khan talked to Amir this afternoon and learned that Amir has no intentions to play in the international games and he should not be considered for the future selections.?
?The decision which he took is his personal choice and PCB respects that.?
The left-arm pacer disappointed head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis with his hasty decision of quitting test cricket.
Younis referred to it as ?he ditched Pakistan? while continuing franchise cricket for money.
?I would know my body more than anyone else and that decision was basically taken after considering my body,? Amir replied.
The pacer was also involved in the Spot Fixing case and was banned for five years after found guilty.
He along with test skipper Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif were banned for deliberately throwing no-balls in return for money in the Lord?s Test against England in 2010.
Mohammad Amir however made his comeback in 2016 and helped his side win the Champions Trophy Final against India.
Amir was Pakistan?s leading wicket-taker in the previous ICC ODI World Cup.
