GT Squad IPL 2023: The defending champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Titans (GT) were simply outstanding with their smart buys in the recently held IPL 2023 Auction. With the aim to bolster the squad along with adding depth to the lineup, Gujarat played some fantastic moves to bag players. The IPL 2022 title winners had a decent core heading to the auction. The franchise backed its players and had only 10 slots to be filled from the auction ring after trading Lokie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz previously to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Gujarat Titans (GT) had an available fund size of INR 19.25 Crores and were required to fill up 10 slots of which three were overseas.

The Ahmedabad-based IPL franchise started off its IPL auction campaign nicely by getting hold of Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson at his base price of INR 2 Crore. They then went on to pick promising Caribbean all-rounder Odean Smith for his base price of INR 50 Lakhs. To make their outing even more fruitful, GT managed to get Irish pacer Joshua Little for INR 4.4 Crores.

To further add more feathers to their decorated bowling department, GT roped in Shivam Mavi for a price of INR 6 Crores following a series of bidding wars against CSK, KKR and RR. Their other domestic buys were - KS Bharat (INR 1.2 crore), Urvil Patel (INR 20 lakh), and Mohit Sharma (INR 50 lakh).
