Trent Boult: The fever for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is on as we are just a few months away from the biggest crown of the game. The tournament will take place in India and it is expected that it will be played from 5th October. A total of 47 matches are likely to take place throughout the tournament. Coming to India, they will be hot favourites going into the event as it?ll be their home conditions and also with the kind of talent that is in the side, they would be looking to win their third cup.?

Trent Boult arguably has been one of the best pacers to have represented New Zealand in cricket. The left-arm pacer has rattled the batting lineups of the opposition single-handedly in all three formats of the game with his ability to swing the new ball.?

Trent Boult has been the kingpin of New Zealand's bowling lineup and has contributed significantly to the side's win. It's fair to say that he has been one of the main reasons behind some of the famous wins of the Kiwis. But since August last year, he hasn't been part of the team.?

Boult opted out of the annual contract of New Zealand Cricket to play in the foreign leagues. The left arm has been exceptional in the leagues around the world and has been taking wickets in clusters.?

But with Cricket World Cup around the world, there were many speculations about if Trent Boult will be part of the team or not. However, all the things have been cleared as the pacer as has been offered a casual playing agreement and is now almost certain that he will be part of New Zealand for the World Cup. 

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Trent Boult keen to play World Cup?

Recently Trent Boult also opened up about his desire to play in the world cup. He said that if things work out well he'll be there in one of the biggest events in the calendar. Speaking to reporters during IPL, he said:?

?Of course, (I am) desperate to play in ODI World Cup ? it is one of the biggest events on the calendar. My sole focus is on IPL at the moment and if things work out (well) I am 100 per cent I want to be there."  

With talks between Trent Boult and New Zealand reaching the conclusion, it?s fair to say that the pacer will be back for the World Cup. His presence will be a massive boost for the team as they would be hoping to go one step further.
