ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2022 Award: Indian left-arm quick Arshdeep Singh is amongst South Africa?s Marco Jansen, New Zealand?s Finn Allen and Afghanistan?s Ibrahim Zadran, who have been nominated for the ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award in 2022.

Arshdeep Singh made it to India?s national setup after the team?s disappointing outing at the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE. Since then, the pacer has been an integral part of the bowling unit.

The speedster has scalped 33 wickets in 21 T20Is for team India since his debut against England in July. With consistent pace, the left arm has fetched fruitful results with both new and old white balls. Following his success in the shortest format, Arshdeep was handed his debut ODI cap during recent India?s tour of New Zealand.

Protea pacer Marco Jansen has been simply exceptional with his sensational bowling display in red-ball cricket. When it looked dark for the South Africans, the lanky pacer stepped up and turned the heads. Jansen scalped 14 test wickets in a calendar year and uprooted wickets wherever he travelled in the year.

Afghanistan?s Ibrahim Zadarn has been a superstar following his arrival in the international arena. The opening batter has stitched multiple memorable performances and has become a vital cog in the Afghan white-ball lineup. The batter scored 431 runs in the ODIs and 376 T20I runs in the year with an outstanding strike rate and average.

New Zealand?s Finn Allen has been no different than his other counterparts on the list. The Kiwis found another hidden gem in the form of Allen in 2022. The batter was on-song in the run-up to the ICC Men?s T20 World Cup 2022 and turned up the heat with his batting exhibition. Allen notched up 411 T20I runs alongside 387 ODI runs in the year.

Meanwhile, in women?s cricket, India?s Renuka Singh and Yastika Bhatia along with Australia?s Darcie Brown and England?s Alice Capsey have been nominated for the prestigious award.

Renuka Singh has been a potent weapon for team India in the white-ball games. The pacer scalped 40 wickets in 29 matches this year and is believed to fill in the large shoes of now-retired bowler Jhulan Goswami.

Yastika Bhatia, on the other side, continued her remarkable contribution in the middle order for India throughout the year. The 22-year-old batter amassed 376 runs in the 50-over format at an average of 25.06.

Australia?s Darcie Brown came up with a searing pace in women?s games and slowly took over as a spearhead of the Aussie bowling department. She scalped two test wickets, 10 ODI and 12 T20I throughout the year.

England?s Alice Capsey made the headlines being a 17-year-old debutant. She amassed 80 runs in the ODIs while 234 runs in T20Is at a strike rate of 127.84 in the year 2022.
