ICC ODI Ranking: Australia back on TOP Leaving India Behind ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

ICC ODI Ranking: By winning the three-match series 2-1 over the hosts, Australia overtook India to take the top spot in the ICC ODI Rankings. The visitors outclassed the hosts in the series decider by handing a 21 runs defeat on Wednesday in Chennai to claim the series. Australia are now back on the top of the ICC ODI Ranking leaving India behind ahead of ODI World Cup 2023.
With the interim captain Steve Smith, Australia overturned a 1-0 deficit to deliver India a rare home series loss. India won the first one-day international in the series at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium by a margin of five wickets. The Australians then came back strongly, winning the second one-day international by 10 wickets with 39 overs left to tie the series and set up an exciting conclusion.
Australia snatched the victory out of the hands of India in the third ODI and came out as the series winner. India suffered its first home ODI series loss since losing to Australia four years ago.
Australia has replaced India as the number one team in the MRF Tyres ICC Men's ODI Rankings following their thrilling victory in Chennai. Australia now leads India by a slim margin at the top following their 21-run victory, with the visitors earning 113.286 rating points to the Men in Blue's 112.638. India led Australia with 114 rating points going into the last ODI, while Australia had 112.
