The reigning ICC World Cup champions, England, defeated New Zealand in a dramatic super-over after the game was tied to claim victory. The tournament was hosted in England in 2019. It's noteworthy that England and New Zealand both had equal super-over scores. Nevertheless, the former team was crowned as the winner based on the total number of boundaries. New Zealand has only scored 17 boundaries, compared to England's 26.
India won the last ICC trophy 'The ICC Champions trophy' back in 2013 under the leadership of legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After that, the Men In Blue, however, played exceptionally well but never came out as winners in any of the ICC tournaments even after reaching the finals or semi-finals.
