ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table (May 15): The Bangladesh tour of Ireland 2023 has come to an end where the hosts were left cold out and the visitors Bangladesh clinched the 3-match ODI series by 0-2.
This series was quite significant for Ireland. They would have needed to win the series 3-0 if they wanted a direct qualification for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. All their hopes and wishes were drowned when the first ODI was washed out due to rain.
Bangladesh claimed the first win in the second ODI of the Bangladesh tour of Ireland 2023 by 3 wickets. Najmul Hossain Shanto was the hero of Bangladesh in the chase. He was the Player of the Match with an outstanding 117 in the winning cause.
The visitors upset the host in the third ODI yet another time in a real thriller by 4 runs. This action-packed series saw a last-ball thriller in the series Decider. Mustafizur Rehman was the architect for the victory of Bangladesh where he took 4 wickets in his quota of 10 overs and also was awarded as Player of the Match.
With this defeat, all hopes of Ireland qualifying directly for the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup have been dashed.
