ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table: South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, defeated West Indies in the third and final one-day international at Potchefstroom to even the series at one game each. If the hosts desired a direct entry into the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be hosted in India this year, the series was crucial.
With 78 points, South Africa is now ranked ninth in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League Points Table. The Proteas have played 19 matches thus far, winning seven of them and losing 10, with two games ending in a tie.
The Netherlands Tour of Zimbabwe is also a part of the World Cup super league 2023. In the three-match ODI series, the Netherlands won the first ODI and Zimbabwe won the second ODI. The third and decisive ODI is slated to be played on 25 March.
Zimbabwe and the Netherlands are 12th and 13th respectively in the Super League Points table and No possibility for them to directly qualify for the World Cup 2023. They will have to play in World Cup Qualifier 2023 in order to qualify for World cup 2023.
Continuing the highlights of the three-match series between South Africa and the West Indies, we can recall that the opening game was a washout at Buffalo Park in East London without even a ball being bowled. The same location hosted the second game of the series, which the visitors won by a margin of 48 runs. Shai Hope, the captain of the visitors, scored 128 runs during his innings to lead them to victory.
In regard to the third ODI, the hosts triumphed by four wickets in Potchefstroom to win the match and tie the series. Meanwhile, a three-match T20I series between South Africa and West Indies will begin on March 25.
